Eddie;
I have the Dimage Scan Elite II
which is similar. According to my manual, the difference is:
- 16 bit - 16 bit out for each RGB. In this mode you
can play with levels, curves, contrast and invert the image. Settings are
saved with the image.
- 16 bit linear - 16 bit out for each RGB with no
gamma correction.
In fact, none of the control settings affect the
saved image, it is a raw scan. The image can only be saved as a 16bit
TIFF.

Subject: [APML] Scanning Question
I am using a Minolta D'Image Scan Dual II
scanner.
Does anybody know the difference between
scanning in 16 bit mode or 16 bit linear mode (I have
both of these options).
Thanks for any advice/input
Eddie
