Hi all Tech Pan experts!
This is my first real attempt at LRGB using a Tech Pan shot as
the L and PJ400 as the RGB. I'm looking for some critiques on this photo as I
have never done this before and I know there are allot of you out there that
have. It's a roll over image processed 2 different ways. The top image was
processed using layers to insert the tech pan shot and the bottom rollover image
I used the LAB method that Matt suggested to me a few weeks ago. I think I
dialed down the layer opacity a little too much on that one. I used
Picture Window to register the 2 shots. Both shots were cut short by clouds so
it's not the greatest. But it's a start if nothing else. I didn't experience any
problems keeping the film dry at least! (My biggest worry)
The star Gamma Cygni looks pretty weird. I
heard that Register can eliminate artifacts like this??
Here's the image data:
Film: Hyped PJ400 and Hyped Tech
Pan
Lens: 400mm Telephoto stopped down to f/8 to remove a
few of the lens problems.
Exposure Lengths: PJ400 1hr 30 min Tech
Pan: 45 Min (UGGG! Way too short)
My intention was 2hrs each
exposure.
Any critical analysis would be much
appreciated..
Thanks John Mertle for getting me started with
this!
