Hi All
Just picked up today a portable pier being
made for my scope, so I'm ready to "Rock and Roll".
This means I'll be aching to go somewhere dark this
weekend (difficult with the current moon phase
and time of year).
However, weather permitting, I'll do it
anyway.
Want to try out a coma corrector and 2nd hand ST4
on dark skies.
Question: Bearing in mind this will be a trial
outing (test my focus/tracking routine as well as finding out what
can
go wrong in the field) can anybody suggest and good objects (open clusters, globulars etc.) I
should go for
bearing in mind moon
phase.
To help, I'm at 52 N. 0 E, using a 300mm F4
newtonian with a FOV on 35mm film of about 95 x 74 arc-minutes.
Appreciate any advice anybody has.
Thanks
Eddie Guscott
