Re: [APML] I THINK I UNDERSTAND CURVES
Alan
No slight intended at you. I'm trying as hard as I can to learn this stuff
as well.
I have re-read Matt's article on curves (
http://world.std.com/~mattb/articles/curves.htm ) several
times now and thought I'd just copy the shape of the curves shown in his
article (but on my own
image).
Wow! All of a sudden I was bringing out the suubtle colours for that colour
whilst keeping the
background a neutral colour (this is where I've been falling down up to
now - when I try tried to
bring out the subtle colours, the background went with it).
Anyway, after using exactly the same curve shape as shown om Matt's web
page, I started
playing around with the curve a bit more (still only using to points) and by
adjusting
the background at each step (move the bottom of the curve towards the right
along the
bottom line). By only making very minor adjustments to the shape of the
curve
changed the picture dramatically. I can now see why this process can take 30
minutes
or longer as the changes to the curves are small but the changes to the
picture are great.
Hope this makes sense.
