I haven't used an OM-2 so maybe somebody more familiar with this camera can 
answer your question for sure, but I can ask a couple of questions and make 
a suggestion.

Do you set the camera to auto exposure someplace different than the shutter 
speed dial on this camera?

Just set the camera to the same settings you had it on, (B and Auto 
exposure), and with no film in the camera, aim it at something bright and 
see how long the shutter stays open. If it stays open until you take your 
finger off the button, then you are probably out of luck. You should be 
able to easily test it. If the shutter stays open as long as you hold down 
the shutter button, then it was on B, and not on Auto.
