RE: [APML] Image stacking options

Alan,

You've seen this, right? http://www.dl-c.com/astro.pdf

I do recommend RegiStar. It automatically registers on every star and warps
the image accordingly. You can only get close to RegiStar's results with PW
by registering on a few dozen points, which takes lots of time. RegiStar
also supports scripts, which are handy if you have a big registration job.
Have you tried RegiStar's free evaluation version (although unfortunately
it doesn't let you save the files)? See www.aurigaimaging.com

After I bought RegiStar, I read John Boudreau's article and immediately
recognized I had many images with chromatic aberration that could benefit
from registration. I use that technique for up to a third of my images now.

The only time I'd recommend PW over RegiStar is if you have a slow/old
computer.

Interesting how some astrophotographers will eagerly spend $10K on hardware
but balk at a $150 software tool that will save many hours of tedious labor.
