Quite a number of people on the APML spend lots of time configuring 
equipment, traveling to dark sites, taking exposures, scanning, stacking, 
digital processing, printing, etc. I think an estimate of 8-hours per image 
for all of that is too low.

If you consider the time I spent preparing for the Chile trip, the total 
effort for the 28 images was 500 to 1000 hours.

I think the word is "obsessed".
