Emmanuele, I searched my archives and found the following reference to that
lens, seems good.. perhaps you could contact Jim Barclay and ask him about it. I
would think that for $800 you should get a chance to test it.. Good luck and let
me know how it works out.

To all that replied to this thread..thanks guys!! it is assuring to know
that there are some very experienced and talented people who take (like me)
their love of astrophotography to heart, and actually go out of their way,
to help others....thanks a bunch fellas.....Hopefully one day, some of you
may want to visit Oz and if so, let me offer you my hospitality to shoot
from my dark country site...
I am glad now I did not get that lens....it was 15 years old....finding this
out, brought to mind the time one of these lenses had to have major surgery
to one of the rear elements....
I do own a 500mm F4.5 SMC lens and yes! it is a beautiful flat field lens at
max. aperture.
So now I am after these lenses...a 300mm F2.8 but which one..... Nikon or
Tamron, which has the flatest field at max. aperture? I do not have
Canon cameras.. and a 600mm for the 67 format. ...? any comments very
welcome....
Till we meet again...
Jim
