[APML] Processing School

I recently enrolled in the Matt BenDaniel School of processing.  Although still in the early stages of my education, here is the first result.

The shot was taken in Florida in March at Chiefland Astronomy Village, lots of humidity and ground fog.

It was scanned with a Polaroid Sprintscan 4000 and processed in Photoshop as follows:

I adjusted the scan to obtain an image with little to no clipping as described in Matt’s article on curves. Then I used the magic wand to circle up some sky glow in the lower right corner and used an adjustment layer to reduce the green. Magic wand again to work on the center of the image with another adjustment layer… You get the idea. I think a total of 5 or 6 adjustment layers and then saturation and color balance in the end at Matt’s suggestion to get the over all color right.

It was the most work I’ve done on an image, it still has some problems that I see, but I would like feedback good and bad.

Many thanks to Matt for his help!
