Try having the face that mates with the camera body sandblasted at a
local machine shop.  It's cheap and fast to do, and the camera won't
budge after that.  If there are other mating metal faces on that device,
blast them, too.  My superthingamajig is blasted, and a single bolt
holds the Pentax 67 with the 200mm f/4 lens with no differential flexure
problems.
