Jon, thanks.  The window of opportunity was very narrow, only about 10 minutes before they set and it was semi dark.

Just in case you missed it, Ive posted last nights images of the close approach of the Planet Mercury and 6th magnitude Comet Utsunomya that was VERY low on the western horizon.  Here is the result:
