The first night I started out by eyeballing with just a magnetic compass and bubble level. Then I drift aligned. It's not as bad as it sounds, because the drift is so obvious at first that you home in to the pole quickly (as long as the mount is level). Each morning I was able to leave the equipment in place under a Desert Storm cover. Each night I just did a touch-up drift align. I drift aligned with the ST-4. If you temporarily disable the relays, you can watch the DEC drift by the Y (or X) error.
