Re: [APML] Total Newbie

Shekhar

thanks for your advice, I´ll try to get the books (prolly I´ll have to order them on internet), about the mount, yes I´ve read how much important is mount, and as much I would like a Losmandy G-11 or a G-8, I simply cant afford it. I guess that after reading the books I´ll do some wide fiel AP with my 50mm f/1.8 and get some experience.

Robert,

I don't have any experience with either of the two scopes you
mention so I cannot comment on their suitability.

However, I would recommend that you worry about what mount
to get rather than the scope.  If you don't have a good mount
then even a great scope is quite useless.

I know it is fun to take pictures right away but reading
a good introductory text such as Astrophotography for the
Amatuer by Michael Covington or Deep Sky Astrophotography
by Robert Reeves will give you a good idea of what you
should start with.

Finally, the APML archives at http://astro.umsystem.edu/apml
are an invaluable resource and you will find numerous
recommendations for beginners.
