[APML] Ikeya-Zhang near M31
Hi all,
Otto Guthier from Germany gave me some of his negatives and slides for
digitizing and processing. He made his images with a 2,3/495mm Schmidt and
used Tech Pan 6415hyp. and E200.
The last two evenings I was sitting here to combine his shots made at 4.4.02
for an LRGB. All I can say is that it was one of the hardest images to
process for me. I removed the vignetting, removed the gradient from top to
the bottom of the image because of the horizon dust, I had much trouble to
get a nearly neutral background and was looking for blues in that image -
nearly every blue information except the gas tail was lost - I think because
of that near position to the horizon where all the blue is absorbed by the
atmosphere. Because of that, I did some selective color corrections. I
uploaded the image a bit dark because of the uneven background of it.
So now, my eyes are tired and I´m not sure, what else I could do with that
one, so any comments are welcome!
