The Lagoon shot is very
"monotonic" ... I would expect both histograms to be roughly equal on something
like that... try something that has more variety like a nature shot or
something... lots of color and density range. That should work. At the very
least you can see that the two histograms had to match up... but I am finding
that having the RGB histogram slightly "wider" than the L histogram gives the
most "photo-realistic" results when printing to an ink jet like mine... truly
the best of both worlds when making an LRGB... color does not have to be sharp
at all but it must have the "range" across the histogram... and the L just needs
to be super clean and super sharp.... when you put the two together, the results
are amazing compared to conventional imaging. I'll be posting a comparison of my
best film M-51 and the CCD M-51 soon... you're not going to believe the
difference.
