George: Raw scan means you make the decisions-particularly those
related to clipping high and low values from an image scan. Credit
where its due: Jerry Lodriguss pointed out how to turn of prescans on my
Nikon LS2000 and avoid its early death by my hand (!). I'm sure he'd be
glad to expound on this very important matter.
