[APML] Sky-watcher

Does anyone of you have experience with Sky-watcher refractors?
I am thinking of purchasing a 102/500 rich-field refractor on an EQ-3
mount or a 120/600 rich-field refractor on a Gem-1 mount.

I want to get started with astro-photography and my original intention
was to buy a Meade ETX but this has been discouraged as unsuitable
for astro-photography.

I am on a rather limited budget so I am not really interested in 
alternatives
like Takahashi's or TeleVue's et cetera, however well meant they may be.

Look forward to your thoughts and comments on this.
