RE: [APML] Identity Crisis
John, they look like LDN798 and LDN792.

Subject: [APML] Identity Crisis
I am having some problems identifying some dark nebula, and hope someone
can help. None of my charts plot anything near Alberio, the bright star in
the upper right corner of the image. Anyone got better charts?? FOV is
cropped a bit, about 3.5 by 5 degrees - 8" Schmidt image.
It has taken me 5 months to get around to producing this image, as this
was a "bit" overexposed. The negative looks like a solar filter, except when
you hold it up to a really bright light, (like the sun!) there are some dark
specks. I had to convert it into a positive using a slide copier and expose
heavily to rescue the image. I guess that this is the analog equivalent to
subtracting a dark frame. :-) As it turns out, I had not planned on shooting
this field, I missed my real target but came up with an interesting shot
anyway. I am also experimenting with sepia toning tech pan images. Comments
(and identification) welcome.
