Last year I asked Prof. Stephen Zepf (co-author of a book I read entitled Globular Cluster Systems) about the color of globular clusters.
Globular clusters are very old. Their remaining main sequence stars are smaller than our sun and redder. Some of the stars have neared end of life and have turned into red giants. This means that globulars should be slightly reddish overall.
The core of a globular cluster is also thought to have "stripped cores" from gravitational interactions. These are hot and blue. So the core is a bit blue.

I'll take a closer look at that.
