I read somewhere (and have since done it myself) that you can take the ring
out of the camera head, put it in your oven at around 400 degrees for 10 to
15 minutes, take it out and let it cool, and then put it back in the camera
head.  This evaporates all the moisture out of the ring and "recharges" it.
I have never replaced mine in over 6 years... just "recharged" it as
described above whenever I see condensation or ice crystals forming inside
the window of the CCD.  It has always worked great for me!
