Steve:
Tony Hallas just recently sold his Pentax 6x7 camera which he had drilled for
a N2 purge. I emailed him about how and where he drilled the body.
He responded that the drilled the hole through the "alignment pin" hole just
behind the tripod scoket on the bottom of the body. He said he put a piece of
sticky tape inside the body where the hole would be to catch any metal
filings from the drilling.
I know others have put a lump of putty there to do the same thing.
Wanting to drill my 67 body, I have acquired the exploded views of the camera
from a repairman, but they don't conclusively tell me if anything will be
harmed. There is a circuit board in the bottom of the camera, to the left of
center, I think, which concerns me. Of course, Tony did it.
Good Luck.
