Shekhar,
  Since I'm bored and didn't get to go to the RTMC, I threw together a web
page with one of the few scans I had archived showing the S-20 dust problem.
When I initially encountered it I thought I had a bad pixel too and it took
a long time to figure out what was wrong.  Your original problem does appear
more severe, but does "look" sort of like the dust problem.  The only other
thing I might suggest is re-installing the S-20 software (after
un-installing it).  I know I've had to do that a couple times before.  But I
can never remember if you have to hook up the S-20 before or after the
software installation and I know its touchy about that.  If you resolve the
problem I wouldn't mind knowing the cause too.
