[APML] long fl camera lens recom?

Can anyone recommend a long (i.e. 400-600mm) camera lens that might be
suitable for wide-field AP? There are some really inexpensive 500mm mirror
lenses made by Sigma/Vivitar or the 500mm/f8 Olympus mirror. Would
something like this be a realistic alternative to scopes like the TV85 (for
AP only of course)? It seems to me that the color correction and coma would
be much better with a camera lens in these focal lengths if AP was all you
were interested in vs. a $2,500 scope, field flattener, etc. Or am I
totally off base here?

Thanks,
Alan
