You got real lucky.

I have one of the relatively early Spectra Flipmats and it has never worked 
as advertised. It's not parfocal with the chip and the center of the chip is 
nowhere near the center of the reticle crosshair. I actually received two 
other Flipmates and they were worse than mine.

I use it as is and it does simplify guidestar acquisition, but it should 
allow for x-y and focus adjustment of the reticle.
