Re: [[APML] OT: best scaner under $500]

Ricardo,

Check out the specs on the Minolta Dimage scan Dual II. I am also looking for
an inexpensive neg/slide scanner. For the money, it looks like a good deal.
The info I have found in the APML archives seems to agree. I have found it
here in Seattle for $550.00, but mailorder it ranges from $399.00 to $450.00.
Look in any Photography magazine ads for places to buy. If you want the web
sites, E-mail me back. I'm at work and don't have the bookmarks handy.

Hi there,

I guess this is not really off-topic after all. I'd like to get some
advice before buying a scaner, I plan to use it for astrophoto negatives and
diapositives, as well as paper prints for work at the office.

  Any suggestions...?

I was looking at a epson perfection 1640SU, but I'm not quite sure (it
sells here in Chile for $580). Is it good for the money?, have anyone tried
it?.

  Thanks,

Ricardo Serpell
