Actually the tape should go around the _eyepiece_ threads.  This will tighten the eyepiece in the bore and there will be much less play.
As to the allen key, it,s .7 mm not .007. Had too many beers Warren? (g)

Sorry, I didn't save this thread, but to whoever had solved the polarscope jiggles with teflon tape, would you write me directly or here if you think it's worth bringing up again? My question is, what would the tape on the threads do? I took your idea and used it around the lip that goes into the bore and that eliminated almost all of the travel, but don't see how anywhere else would help.
 
Also can anyone confirm the .007mm allen size for the reticle adjustment screws? I'd like get one to tweak it after STV drift aligning.
