Re: [APML] Monday's Astro Photo of the Day

Hello,
I've got an idea for taking exposures combining a terestrial foreground and
stars in the background. It's possible to double the exposure time before
trailing either of the stars (if not tracked) or of the background (if
tracked).
For example if your max exposure time before getting trailed stars is 10
seconds, then you can take a 20 second exposure. During the first 10 s of
the exposure the motor tracks the stars and you stop it for the 10 s
remaining. The trailing will be split between the background and the
foreground.
I have not tried it yet, has anyone done it ?

Clear skies,
Eric
