Rather than make or buy an adapter, get the real F/F2 cable release on eBay.
They go for around $15 or $20 and are far studier than the current style of
releases. I had this same surprise when I got an F but I really like the old
release far better than the newer ones. The base of this release is really
strong, not prone to being broken off.
