Hi folks,
I'm a bit late in catching up on this thread. I take it the jest of the
conversation here centers on my (now outdated) film test web page where I
rated Tech Pan as "Not Recomended". I hasten to point out that the film
tests were ALL with UNHYPERED film. This was in an effort to encourage new
folks to shoot with off-the-shelf films and not worry about the complexities
of hypering as they get started in astrophotography. Those of us with
experience under our belts know that hypered Tech Pan is indeed the supreme
B&W astrofilm. I must have used a hundred yards of the stuff over the
years. But I didn't want to complicate things for newcomers by blitzing
them film hypering right off the bat. Let them get hooked on this, then
we'll spring that on them <g>.
