As always, I cannot resist the urge to identify the object in
question. I believe the name of the dark nebula is DCld 343.0+02.8 and
the description is "Cometary globule like, sharp edges E, diffuse W".
So it's not a cometary globule :) Anyway, for a complete list of dark
nebulae for the southern hemisphere (complements Barnard and LDN for
the northern hemisphere) check
