Thanks for the comment. Yes, the transition from the masked Trapezium region to the surrounding area is too abrupt. I probably should have used more feathering on the selection.
 
For all you Photoshop people out there: if one is going to invert the selection before doing some image processing, is it better to feather before inverting or after? Or doesn't it make any difference?

I like the shot! Looks really good, but the mask for the short and long exposure is to clearly defined. The inner part of the nebula looks like it is completely brown, then abruptly goes to pink.
 
I have no idea how this stuff works (besides reading Jerry's article), but maybe there's something you can do about it. Otherwise a wonderful photo.

I have a few shots taken with unhypered LE400. I thought it behaved quite well. Except for the increased grain, I like the color balance at least as well as E200. See
