Hey Greg,

50 years from now, some of the young guys on this list will still be shooting film. There will be a gradual shifting of APers to CCD. But, if more people come into this hobby we may not see much difference in numbers of film users. Indeed, the # of film users may even grow. 

As a lurker on SBIG users, I see many familiar names from this list. Sean has made an excellent point about wide vs narrow fields. Some of the CCD images are absolutely mind blowing. OTOH, most of the great wide-field images must be viewed here. 

Personally, I plan on wading into the shallow end of the ccd pool. (boo) The technology is advancing too fast to ignore. OTOH, I've just got an excellent buy on astromart on my second OM-1. I am definitly going to be taking more emulsion based pictures too. I've figured out that I've been under-utilizing my scope with only one camera.

I'm covering all the bases and taking advantage of the best of both worlds.
