[APML] Color of M43?

I'm trying to figure out the "true" color, as humans would see it,
of M43.  I've been browsing numerous web sites and every version is
different.  I thought it should be mostly blue; however, I could see
it being a little red given the intervening red nebulosity prevalent
in this region.  Does anyone know?
