Nice shots Wade! You sure do get nice ion tails. I'm not
sure about your light background after DBE but would think it might
have to do with sample size/tolerance settings.

addition, you can click on the Comet Machholz image and see the
results
from PixInsight just after vignetting has been removed. For
some
reason, I'm getting very light backgrounds after using DBE.
Also note, the
tweaked image probably has a little less ion tail.
I'm still learning how
to tweak the tail without destroying the
background and other
objects. I've tried using the lasso tool to
select just the tail, but
it's definitely easier said than
done.
