[APML] Comet Hale-Bopp core reprocessed
I was taking a break from processing last months images which are
proving to be very frustrating. I dug back into my film archive to find
stuff that might be a good candidates for reprocessing.
I came across a sequence of comet Hale-Bopp shots that I never scanned
or digitally processed. These images were before my Photoshop days and
proved to be too difficult to stack properly using an enlarger. The
sequence was taken with a Nikon F3 on a 22" f/7.5 RC telescope. The film
was PPF-400. The image is a composite of 10 exposures ranging from 120
sec to 15 sec. The pinwheel of expelled gasses is clearly visible as the
nucleus rotates. This was also visible by eye through the telescope and
over time you can see the nucleus rotate.
