Re: [APML] New shots: M35 (SHQ200) and M37 (Provia 400F)
Morning, Alan;
The 400f does seem to give a bit more snap, wonder how much of that might be
due to the combine of two frames. On my monitor there is a distinct
difference between the black window background and the sky background on
both shots. My personal preference is for darker backgrounds (like yours)
with a hint of blue. I gave M37 the midtone in the blue level a very slight
boost, say 1.06, and it suited my taste about perfectly. Looks like there is
still just a touch of vignetting in the corners, but it doesn't really show
till you boost the brightness.
All afternoon yesterday the sky kept getting clearer and clearer..then as
evening came on it clouded up again. I hate this time of year. Maybe tonight
will be better, I still need to realign and then test the RA drive to make
sure it's ok now.
In the trials and tribulations department..or..if it ain't one thing it's
something else..finally got tired of carting my desktop pc back and forth so
finally bought a really nice notebook...without a parallel port. Expecting
to be able to find a true parallel port adapter, either USB or pcmcia
cardbus, I've spent the last two and a half weeks trying to get something to
work........all to no avail. So, yesterday I bit the bullet and bought an
ST-402ME and I'll be reselling the Pixcel 237 I bought only a couple months
ago on astromart (sigh).
Clear, dark and steady skies
