Subject: [APML] The Orion Region
Here's the Orion Region shot. Please, let me know if you find any
problems with the digital processing. This shot was taken 2/9/2005.
The transparency was very good. It was a "test" shot after I
completed all my Comet Machholz images. The wind was blowing like
crazy. Since I didn't have perfect polar alignment, there is some
very slight rotation in the corners. It just amazes me how Tony
Hallas can bring out so much detail from a slide. I can't wait
until next year to take an E200 and 400F combination. I have such a
dark sky I probably could have gone 45 minutes or longer with this
shot. I have included three resolutions:
Low resolution:
http://www.northwest-landscapes.com/html/deepsky/orion_region1.html
Medium resolution:
http://www.northwest-landscapes.com/html/deepsky/orion_region2.html
High resolution:
http://www.northwest-landscapes.com/html/deepsky/orion_region3.html
This was truly a surprise shot. I didn't realize by looking at the
shot, I had captured so much nebulosity. Granted, it can't compete
against a CCD, but it still turned our surprising well.
I hope you enjoy,
Wade
