congratulations on your article: the idea of using the unexposed slide film
is really smart: this is a trick I noted down. I do, however, have a few
doubts I'd like to clear up.
As far as I know, the Toucam lens should have a built-in IR-cut filter, so
that the camera should be almost blind to the IR band. You should be able
to get rid of it by removing the lens, but then I guess you could't focus
properly anymore. IR-cut filters are also widely used in planetary imaging
because the sensor becomes less sensitive to seeing and yields sharper images.
Therefore, here are a few questions:
1) How come you managed to focus a landscape to infinity and let infrared
light in?
2) Is unexposed slide film really completely blind to visible wavelengths?
3) How did you find out your remote control emits at exactly 910 nm?
