Hi Michael,
If you plan to scan and ever print your pictures from your slides, please
scan them before you ever put them in your projector. The heat and intense
light in the projector can damage the slides. When you put a slide in a
projector you can see the picture "pop" into focus after a few seconds -
that's the heat affecting the plastic slide. You want to have the best
quality slide when you scan them - no cracked emulsion, dust, or faded
colors.
