Re: [APML] registering images...

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

It's been 6-months since I asked this and got responses that, yes,
indeed Registar can stack lunar images. As my day-job went nuts on a
project that consumed every free moment and then some, I've not done
anything in that interval, but...

We finally released our code a week ago and now that I've destressed a
bit, I pulled several old webcam shots of the moon taken with a ToUCam
740k through my Orion 127mm Mak-Cas. I may have used a focal reducer,
but I can't remember and didn't write it down. In any event, I used
Registar to align and composite the images and it worked wonderfully.

Although it's not a film image, you can see the results here

    http://www.astrofoto.org/gallery/solar/luna/index.html?size=medium

My wife saw the composite over my shoulder at full size while I was
working on it and didn't believe it was mine :-)

Now to see what Registar can do with my grainy film shots of the
moon....

Thanks to Greg Hartke, Steve Holak, and Philip Perkins, all of whom
replied to my message and set me straight.
