A little, but when combining a bunch of frames, the noise is averaged out.

Thanks for the comments. What I find worth the price of admission alone is
the ability to know for sure that your shot is composed and focused properly
before you waste a whole night only to find the next day after paying a
bunch to have the slide film developed that you did something wrong. I
speak from experience on this. Being able to use a tool like DSLRFocus to
use actual star images from the imaging chip to focus vs. knife-edge, Ronchi
screens or other secondary methods is, for me, much more satisfactory.
Also, being able to set up a long sequence of five-minute exposures and then
go talk with my buddies at the star parties we hold at our observatory site
is very nice.
