Re: [APML] Film is not dead
These are very good too Hap. As I told Jerry I'm probably a little behind in
seeing the latest and best. But I still don't think these are as good in
terms of contrast and Ha sensitivity as the best Kodak E200 film images.
Certainly not as good as TP/color composites but TP ain't here no
more........
The D-slr's do have great blue sensitivity. I see your images were made at
warmer temps than the images Jerry posted to me. Is the noise level higher
when shooting at warmer temps?
I suppose discussing which medium is the best between D-slr's and film is a
moot point because the digital revolution is over-running the industry
anyway. And doing it in astrophotography too. No question that professional
photographers are going digital in droves. I do High school sports and
activity photography on the side. Last year I shot film with a Nikon N90s
and this year I bought a D70. I'll never go back. The savings in film and
developing cost alone almost paid for the camera, but the biggest savings
was in the time I did not spend doing all that scanning. Equal or better in
quality also.
Again, excellent images!
