Re: [APML] Minolta DiMAGE Scan Dual III

I have a Scan Dual II and I am very happy with it. The advanced software
works well and it quite efficient. However, I also have an Epson 2450
Flatbed/transparency scanner. The difference between the Epson and the
Scan Dual II is minimal and the Epson is far more versatile. I would
suspect that the new Epson 4870 Flatbed/transparency scanner would be a
superior scanner to the the Scan Dual III and would be far more
versatile. The Epson offers 4800dpi optical resolution, 16 bit colour
depth, 3.8Dmax and can scan transparencys up to 4 x 9 inches and prints
up to 8.5 x 11 inches. If the Epson 4870 can live up to its specs then
it renders most dedicated transparency scanners obsolete.

I seem to recall that the Scan Dual III does not have a 4.8dmax but is
in fact about 3.8.

cheers
