You said that... you lost control with that image. The noise is a big problem, the color balance of the background is unpleasant... i just don't like it. Give it another try.

By far much better. I think that a if you were a bit more aggresive you'd had a better contrast between the nebulaes and the background. Also it looks a little flat... anyway, it is a nice image. Try pushing the film two steps to achieve a deeper result.

It is the picture I like most. The only adversal comment is the strange appearence of the bright stars... why have they a so big halo?

It is a good way to perform an AV mask if you don't have large bright objects. First you have to delete them with the clone stamp. After that try a series of gaussian blurs, but with a little radius, becouse a larger one tends to be inacurate. Also you can try some minimun or median filter before the gaussian blurs.
