Re: [APML] Wide field Milky Way

Very nice, Scott!

Film is still killer for these wide field shots. I have some "old" RG200/400 and Supra 400 in my fridge, and hope to get some film imaging done once it gets warm ;-)

The red halo's may be partially due to halation in the red layer, but I think that you've also recorded enough of the very faint and thin red nebulosity in the area that some of this is real--- looking at the upper right of the image, and still in the Milky Way, there is relatively little red cast due to faint nebulosity along with much less of the "red halo" effect.

Subject: [APML] Wide field Milky Way

It is good to have APML back online, much thanks to all who contributed to the cause.

This is another image taken from my trip out west, I've been slow getting some of the last ones processed. I had Tony Hallas scan a few for me because I wasn't satisfied with the results of my scanner, it did make a big difference. This 35mm lens shows some aberrations, which are not evident at web resolution, near the edges, but overall I am pretty happy with the results. Can anyone tell me what causes red halo's around the brighter stars?
Comments and suggestions are welcome.

Thanks,
Scott Hammonds
