You may want to have a try at building a homemade shutter that will go
in front of the lens if the individual exposure times are 1 second or
more.

The idea is that the second shutter is not in physical contact wih the
camera. The camera lens slides in the back of a tube that contains the
shutter but has a little clearance all around. You will need two tripods
one for the sutter and one for the camera. The shutter itself is a black
slide with a hole in it that will not vignette the lens and the slide
should also be long enough to allow the shutter to be double acting.
ie:hole in the center and enough top and bottom to allow blackout. That
way you push the shutter down for one exposure and pull up for the next.
And so on.
I am sure that this is clear as mud so contact me off list if you
areinterested in a better explanation.
