We have to make sure that the lawn is freshly mowed before shooting as
far south as the Trifid! It's not all that high, the "stinger" stars in
Scorpius mark our southern horizon. This explains the severe gradients I had
to remove from the image. On the plus side M31 is circumpolar and we get a
great view of NGC188 and Polarissima Borealis.... :-)

Nice shot, yes I remember this film from a long time ago. I am surprised
you can shoot the Triffid from way up in BC, Canada.
