Re: [APML] Print films for AP
Steve,
Sorry to report this, but there are no really good color negative films
currently in production that work for astrophotography without hypering.
You can see my web site for slightly out of date data on the films:
http://home.nethere.net/mpd/FilmTestSummary/FilmTestSummary.htm
The last of the good films - Kodak Supra 400 - just went out of production.
Don't buy Royal Supra 400 nor Supra with a red starburst that says new or
improved.
Look through the recent APML message archives for a discussion on Supra 400.
Of the films I have tested, the Fuji NPH 400 now works the best of the color
negative films, but it is not as good as the "old films" were. You might
consider using slide film. Both Kodak E200 and Fuji Provia 400 work very
well with standard processing or pushed 1 or 2 stops.
