    My Paterson Super System 4 must be somewhat newer, I don't have any of
these "retaining rings". My system holds 2 reels, but I usually use just
one. My reels have a tight friction fit on the center column and they stay
in place. They have never moved during processing, in fact I have never even
given it any thought.

George, Andrew and Frank, thanks for the info.  This is exactly what I
was looking for.  I was really surprised that Paterson didn't offer
on-line manuals or data sheets for there products.  I guess I am just
getting spoiled from all the companies that do.
