Hey Jerry... of course I want to see the final adjustments, that's the
problem... the image looks great in Photoshop, but completely different in
either PW Pro or IrfanView. After setting Curves > OK and then a little
Saturation boost... I went File > Save As... so I could change the file name to
denote the 'Final' version. I wrote the file name then saved it as a TIFF file
with no compression. When I open it with another app or upload it to the web,
it looks the same, as if Photoshop didn't write the file correctly. If I open
it again in Photoshop, looks great.
What I'm seeing in the Layers palette during processing is normal for a 16 bit
image... thanks for clarifing. Why doesn't my 'Preview' image in Photoshop
match the saved image when viewed in other applications? Why does the saved
file look great in Photoshop and bad elsewhere? I'm in RGB(Adobe 1998) color
space in both programs. I'm ready to believe I have a missing, damaged or
otherwise corrupted program file(s) in the PS app... I think I'll try an
Uninstall/Reinstall of the entire program. I processed one image using both
apps... no problems. This second image I've tried looks fine in Photoshop,
crappy everywhere else. Any ideas? :-/
Thanks...
Geoff
